domestique Privacy Policy
Effective October 14, 2026
domestique is a cycling coach that works over chat. It reads your training data, explains what each workout was for and how you did, and helps you plan your week. It is built and run by Grant Gumina ("I", "me"). This policy explains what data domestique collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.
What I collect
Account information. Your email address, a display name, and your time zone. Your password is never stored; only a salted scrypt hash of it is.
Training data from intervals.icu. When you connect intervals.icu, you authorize domestique to:
- read your activities (rides and their metrics, such as power, heart rate, duration, and training load),
- read your wellness data (such as weight, resting heart rate, sleep, and HRV, if you record them there),
- read your athlete settings (such as FTP and training zones), and
- read and write your training calendar, so planned workouts appear on it.
domestique also receives notifications from intervals.icu when something changes, such as a new ride being uploaded, and stores them until the coach has processed them.
Chat. If you link Telegram, domestique stores your Telegram chat identifier and the messages exchanged between you and the coach, so it can keep the context of your conversation.
Technical data. A single cookie keeps you signed in on the website. The server keeps operational logs (for example, errors and request records) to keep the service running and secure. domestique uses no advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies.
How I use it
Your data is used only to provide the coaching service: to analyze your training, write plans and feedback, put workouts on your calendar, message you, and keep the service secure and working. I do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with other users.
AI processing
The coaching is generated by a large language model. To produce a reply, the relevant parts of your training data and conversation are sent to the model provider, which is currently Anthropic (Claude). That data goes through Anthropic's commercial API, whose terms do not allow Anthropic to train its models on it. If domestique moves to a model I host myself, your data will stay on infrastructure I operate.
Who else processes your data
I share your data only with the service providers needed to run domestique, and only for that purpose:
- Hosting and networking: Google Cloud, or servers I operate, along with network providers such as Cloudflare.
- AI model provider: Anthropic, as described above.
- Messaging: Telegram, which delivers your chat messages under its own privacy policy.
- Training data: intervals.icu, which you connect and control.
I may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How I protect it
Data in transit is encrypted with HTTPS. The access tokens that let domestique reach your intervals.icu account are encrypted before they are stored. Each athlete's data is kept apart at the database level with row-level security, so one account cannot read another's.
How long I keep it
I keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, your profile, connections, training notifications, and messages are deleted with it. Copies in backups expire on the normal backup cycle.
Your choices
- Disconnect intervals.icu at any time, from domestique or from your intervals.icu settings. domestique then loses access to your training data.
- Unlink Telegram by blocking or stopping the bot.
- Access, correct, export, or delete your data by emailing me at the address below. I will respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or California law), you may have further rights, including to object to processing or to complain to a data protection authority. Email me to use any of them.
Children
domestique is not intended for anyone under 16, and I do not knowingly collect data from them.
Health information
Training and wellness data can reveal things about your health. domestique uses it only to coach you. Its advice is not medical advice; talk to a doctor before starting or changing a training program.
Changes
If this policy changes, I will update the date above. If the change is significant, I will tell you through the app or by email before it takes effect.
